I didn't meet "Aunt Idie" until in the 1970's when I tracked her down living in St. Charles with her daughter, Marie Bersche.  I took my grandmother, Berdie Henderson Martin & my aunt, Cora Martin Zimmermann, with me for a visit.  And visited "Aunt Idie" many times after that here in Potosi.  She was a very sweet and loving person and I have many fond memories of her(Esther M. Ziock Carroll).  Remembering my gr. aunt Ida Martin Cooper: Whenever she would get a headache she would say, "I gots the headache."

This silver tea service belonged to my gr. aunt Ida Martin Cooper. It is tarnished in this picture but is very beautiful when polished. It was given to me by her daughter Marie Cooper Bersche.. She told me that aunt Idie wanted me to have it. I helped Marie occasionally with aunt Idie when she was in Georgeann Gardens & one time in the emergency room at the hospital. Marie lived in St. Charles & couldn't get to Potosi quickly during emergencies so she would call me & I would go tend to aunt Idie till Marie could get here.
