MYSTERY MARTIN - In the 1900 census Isabella & her husband, Neslon Martin, were living next door to James & Margie Martin in Webb Township, Reynolds Co., Mo. There were two children in the Isabell & Nelson Martin household: Angie & Elise TODD.  They were listed as step-daughters to Nelson Martin. Nelson's birth year is given as Jan. 1872.   Birthplace Missouri. Isabella's birth year is given as July, 1871.

Memorial Park Cem. St. Louis - Veterans plot).  W. Nelson Martin later married Della ?? - children: Jerean, Floyd, Elmer, Mabel Paulk, Helma Rankin, Betty Davis, & Reba Long.  Della Martin later married a Lane - she died 1951 & is buried in Steelville Cem.`
 

I have not yet been able to determine how Nelson Martin connects to my Martin family. Isabella is buried in Skaggs Cemetery in Crawford Co. near Shoal Creek where Daniel Martin, James' father, is buried. The picture at left was photographed in 1989. It gives her husband's name as W.N. Martin.

I found W. Nelson Martin in the 1880 census for Union T., Crawford County, Missouri.  It gives his birth year as 1872 & birthplace Missouri. Birthplace of parents Missouri. He is listed as an orphan living with the Godbey family.

There were also five other Martin families in the 1900 Reynolds County, Missouri census: In Carroll Township - James M. Martin & wife Martha W., children Martha & James. The Jesse Martin family: Jesse's wife, Julia, & Jesse's father, Robert.  In Jackson Township: ?Ning? Martin, wife Liza, children - Walter, Allen, Stella, George.  The John A. Martin family: John & his wife Susan.   In Lesterville Township: Sim J. Martin, wife Martha, children - Sim, Ellis, name illegible, Murtle.  All Martin families have connections with Tennessee except for the Jesse Martin family.
